PANews reported on December 21 that according to the Shenzhen Politics and Law WeChat account, an employee in Shenzhen was laid off after the probation period. The company paid 20,000 yuan in salary and 10,000 yuan in compensation, but the employee claimed that there was still 25,000 yuan in virtual currency salary that had not been paid, so he took the case to court. The court believed that the evidence was insufficient and that Tether was not a legal currency, and ordered the company to pay the difference in compensation of 10,000 yuan, dismissing the claim for virtual currency salary. The appeal was dismissed in the second instance, and the original judgment was upheld.
An employee in Shenzhen sued to recover virtual currency wages, but the court dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence and Tether being illegal as a legal currency.
