PANews reported on November 13 that according to Cointelegraph, Apple Studios and A24 are jointly developing and producing a feature film about FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), based on Michael Lewis' book "The Infinite Road: The Rise and Fall of the New Giant". Lewis released the book in October 2023, the day SBF began his criminal trial in New York. Some critics of Lewis' book claim that the author of "The Big Short" downplayed the impact of SBF's behavior on millions of investors who were locked out of their accounts and unable to access billions of dollars in funds. Part of the book focuses on SBF's effective altruism and how it may have affected his misuse of client funds.
Director and actress Lena Dunham will reportedly write the script for the film, which may be in early development.Since FTX filed for bankruptcy in November 2022 and several of the company's executives were charged with fraud in the United States, the story of the crypto exchange and its employees has been under close scrutiny by lawmakers and the media.
