PANews reported on March 19 that according to China Fund News, HashKey Capital has officially obtained a Type 1 license issued by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong, further expanding its business scope and capabilities under the supervision of the SFC. Currently, HashKey Capital holds a Type 9 license, which allows it to provide asset management products to retail and institutional investors. The company was recently approved to provide full management services for investment accounts of virtual assets (VA) under the same license. In addition, since May last year, HashKey Capital has also held a Type 4 license, which allows the company to provide investment consulting services for securities and virtual assets.

With the acquisition of the Category 1 license, HashKey Capital will be able to provide introducing brokerage services to retail and professional investors, and sell and distribute various funds and structured products (including virtual asset-related funds and structured products). The newly added products and services are mainly divided into three categories: ① Market access: The company can provide introducing brokerage services to different markets, introduce traditional financial (TradFi) clients to crypto asset exchanges, and also assist crypto-native clients to access traditional brokers. In this model, HashKey Capital will not custody any customer assets. ② Investment Funds: In addition to the existing HashKey FTSE Digital Asset Top 20 Index Fund and two ETFs, HashKey Capital will provide customers with diversified quantitative investment strategies, such as arbitrage trading, CTA strategies, market neutral and trend tracking products. ③ Structured Products: HashKey Capital can provide customers with a range of structured investment products, including principal protection plans, yield enhancement products, binary options, dual currency investments and other diversified and advanced investment strategies.
